MKM Projects Ltd. – Construction Project Manager

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Construction Project Manager located in beautiful Qualicum Beach, BC. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional that wants to be part of a close-knit hard-working team that prides themselves in every building they help build.

The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and leading construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications. The Construction Project Manager will also manage and coordinate subcontractors, schedule and attend meetings, and communicate with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, excelling in multi-tasking and client communication.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
  • Assist with preparation of permit packages by coordinating drawings and information required for the application and approval process and assist in obtaining all other municipal permits.
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of the project tender packages, including scopes of work customized for the specific project.
  • Assist in the development of the project schedule.
  • Set up and maintain record files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
  • Prepare bid analysis spreadsheets and recommendations for GM approval.
  • Experience creating subcontracts, managing and coordinating subcontractors and reviewing progress billings.
  • Expedite all shop drawings and approvals.
  • Maintain daily communication with Site Superintendents and record daily construction activity.
  • Monitor the site progress and review the quality of the work completed and note any deviations from the project timelines or specifications to the GM.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to date logs for drawings, vendor/subcontractor lists, RFI'S, change orders and track responses and advise Project Management team on status.
  • Provide monthly project status reports that include cost forecasting, cash flows, schedule updates, safety and quality updates and issues.
  • Issues change orders for execution when required.
  • Identify and note any site safety issues to the site superintendent and site safety officer.
  • Coordinate and collect all close-out documents including as-build record drawings, warranties, operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Assist in obtaining the required occupancy permits for the project.
  • Assist in the recovery of all project Letter of Credits
  • Provide meeting minutes for applicable meetings as directed to attend.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with Spectrum Project Management System would be a bonus.
