Faculty/Department Faculty of Arts Unit Arts-English Employee Group URFA CUPE 5791 Job Family N/A Category Sessional Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary
This course develops student proficiency in critical reading and writing through the study of a wide range of non-literary and literary texts, and the study of composition, with emphasis on connections between modes of reading and writing.
Position Requirements
For courses in the Literature Stream, applicants must hold an M.A. or higher degree in English, or an M.F.A. or higher degree in Creative Writing.
Sessional Lecturer II: the academic staff member possesses a master’s degree, or possesses a four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and has taught 12 three credit hour courses or equivalent.
Sessional Lecturer Ill: the academic staff member possesses a PH.D or equivalent, or possesses a Master’s degree and has taught 15 three credit courses or equivalent.
Expertise and successful teaching experience can be demonstrated by evidence including but not limited to student evaluations, examples of syllabi from previously taught courses, or letters of evaluation by other colleagues. Applicants may choose which evidence of teaching effectiveness or potential for teaching effectiveness they wish to provide.
Successful applicants for all courses will be required to comply with the academic regulations regarding teaching outlined in the most recent edition of the Faculty of Arts’ Faculty Policy Handbook, and should in particular familiarize themselves with the regulations regarding the cancellation of individual classes, the conduct of office hours, and the timely assessment of student work.
Successful applicants for courses with remote or online components will be required to use the University of Regina’s Learning Management System and web conferencing applications.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
