Full job description

Lumen LLP is a boutique law firm located in Markham, Ontario.

We are currently in the process of building a platform to support lawyers with at least 2-5 years of experience who are interested in growing their own practice. Our current practice areas are as follows: general corporate/commercial work, wills & estates and trusts, real estate, and litigation.

This opportunity is suitable for individuals who are tired of working for larger firms or in-house and wishes to exert greater control over their own work, time, and professional development.

Our firm can provide you with the following support as you develop and grow your own practice:

> training / mentorship (both on legal matters and on the business aspects of operating a practice including marketing/sales)

> part-time contractor legal work (part of training / mentorship, potential to grow to full-time depending on candidate)

> marketing support

> IT systems support

> clerical support (depending on type of file)

> virtual office

> accounting support

> access to network of other lawyers/professionals

Compensation will be provided on a profit-share basis, vast majority of the revenue brought in by your own marketing efforts will be returned to you - more details will be provided during the interview process.

Most work can be completed remotely with occasional onsite client meetings.

Other Requirements: applicant must be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

Additional language skills not necessary but would be a bonus (e.g. Mandarin/Cantonese, Farsi etc)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
