Job Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the manufacturing of windows and doors to ensure efficient production, timely deliveries, and optimal use of labor, materials, and equipment. The role works closely with sales, engineering, purchasing, production, and shipping departments to meet customer requirements and production targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review customer orders, specifications, and delivery schedules.
  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for window and door manufacturing.
  • Coordinate production activities across cutting, machining, assembly, glazing, finishing, and shipping departments.
  • Monitor production capacity and adjust schedules to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure timely availability of glass, hardware, extrusions, lumber, and other materials required for production.
  • Work with purchasing to resolve material shortages and delivery issues.
  • Track work orders through the manufacturing process and identify bottlenecks.
  • Prioritize production based on customer commitments and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production records and update ERP/MRP systems.
  • Communicate schedule changes and production status to management, sales, and operations teams.
  • Assist with inventory planning and stock control to minimize waste and excess inventory.
  • Analyze production performance and recommend process improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce lead times.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in manufacturing planning, preferably in the windows and doors industry.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, materials, and workflow management.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is an asset.

  • Material availability and inventory accuracy.
