Sales Representative, AVS Department

Spectrum Telecom Group Ltd., founded in 1992, expanded in 2020 to provide integrated security solutions, including CCTV, access control, nurse call systems, public address systems, and related services. We proudly serve education, healthcare, commercial, and industrial customers across Northern Ontario.

Headquartered in Sudbury, Ontario, with offices in North Bay, Orillia, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, and Timmins, Spectrum Telecom employs over 100 people and is recognized by industry leaders including Bosch, Ascom, and Motorola for delivering innovative telecommunications and security solutions.

Job Type:

  • Full-time, Permanent

Salary:

  • 54,000 to $60,000, based on experience plus commission

Location:

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience, preferably in security systems, telecommunications, IT, or a related industry.
  • Experience preparing quotations, proposals, and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and generate new business.
  • Technical knowledge of CCTV, access control, nurse call, PA systems, or networking is considered an asset.

Education:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Vocational diploma, college certificate or diploma in Business/Commerce/Marketing/Electrical/Instrumentation or related field

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Identify sales opportunities and generate new business within Northern Ontario.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and bid documents.
  • Conduct customer meetings and site visits.
  • Present Spectrum's security and telecommunications solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop customer solutions.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate customer information.
  • Attend industry events and networking opportunities.
  • Coordinate project handoffs with operations following successful sales.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales cycle.
  • Maintain organized sales records and report month-end goal setting to the senior management team,
  • Arrange for creation and distribution of presentations and supporting documents.
  • Support senior management by completing orders and keeping customers informed of delays and delivery dates,
  • Monitor and organize inventory while effectively tracking new services and products for sale,
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s G license with acceptable driver abstract,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills,
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Must be able to travel to other locations and capability to maintain a clean driving record,
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products,
  • Knowledge of CCTV, access control, nurse call, PA systems, or networking is considered an asset,
  • Have a strong work ethic and are eager to learn and make new sales with customers, including add-on services,
  • Be strongly skilled in organization, problem-solving, customer service, and multitasking while being committed to excellence
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must pass the security police check,
  • Bondable,
  • Some out-of-town/overnight travel.
