Full job description
When you volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society you have real impact. The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a volunteer-led event and the largest breast cancer fundraiser in Canada. Join us on event day in your local community. You can choose a specific role and shift(s) based on availability.
The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run.
This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4th, 2026.
Tasks for this role include:
- Capture key moments throughout the event, including team photos, ceremonies, official Participant of Hope photo, and award presentations
- Follow the provided shot list to ensure all priority images are covered
- Coordinate with the committee to be in the right place at the right time
- Keep things fun and engaging — help participants feel comfortable and celebrated
- This is an active role in which you will need to stand for long periods of time
Together, we are changing the future of breast cancer. By joining the CIBC Run for the Cure this year and uniting your community together for the breast cancer cause, you are helping us ensure we can continue to fund ground-breaking breast cancer research and clinical trials. Thanks to these investments in research and clinical trials, approximately 90% of women will survive at least 5 years after a breast cancer diagnosis. By being a part of the CIBC Run for the Cure, you are helping us make tremendous progress!
The ideal candidate for this volunteer role has:
- A positive attitude
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Willingness to volunteer at the event in all weather conditions
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Passion for your community
JOIN US and be part of the larger Run community and have the opportunity to learn and mentor as you engage with CCS staff and volunteers. Certificate of volunteer experience available upon request.
Availability on Sunday October 4th 2026 rain or shine.
