Full job description

About Rentsync:
Rentsync is an award-winning, high-growth organization that provides high quality websites, marketing services, and software solutions to the rental and property management industry throughout Canada and the United States.

About the role

We're looking for a senior product manager to take end-to-end ownership of a product area within our growing portfolio. You'll set strategy, drive the roadmap, and ship measurable outcomes, operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

This is a role for someone who has already done the job at a senior level: you've owned products through full lifecycles, you make decisions grounded in data, and you're comfortable getting into technical detail with engineering rather than handing off a spec. Comfort with our domain (proptech, rental marketplaces, or data/analytics products) is a strong advantage.

This is a hybrid/remote position and qualified candidates across Canada are encouraged to apply.

What you'll own

  • Set the vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for your product area, aligned to company objectives, and make the prioritization calls that come with it.
  • Run discovery end to end, covering market and competitor analysis, customer interviews, and quantitative data, to find opportunities and validate direction.
  • Own delivery with engineering and design: scope, tradeoffs, and on-time shipping of high-quality releases.
  • Define the KPIs for your area, instrument them, and drive measurable post-launch impact, not just ship features.
  • Partner across Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Data to align and execute, and communicate plans, progress, and results clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Write the specs and product documentation that keep a cross-functional team moving.
  • Mentor other product managers and raise the bar for product practice across the team.

What we're looking for (essential)

  • 5+ years in a formal Product Manager role (Product Manager, Senior / Lead / Principal / Group PM) at a software company. Time spent earlier in your career as a product owner, analyst, designer, or project manager is valued, but this role requires substantive tenure owning products as a PM.
  • A proven track record of launching software products and owning them through the full lifecycle, with concrete, measurable results (specific KPI or revenue impact, not "drove growth").
  • Strong data and analytics fluency: comfortable with BI tools, experimentation and A/B testing, and making metric-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams (Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, Data) and manage senior stakeholders.
  • Experience running market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery that changed product direction.
  • Experience mentoring and developing other team members.
  • Exceptional communication, able to convey complex product ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving momentum with minimal direction.

Strong assets (not required, but they'll set you apart)

  • A technical background: a CS or engineering degree, a prior software engineering role, or hands-on programming experience. We work closely with engineering and value PMs who can engage in technical depth, reason about APIs and architecture tradeoffs, and prototype or build (including with modern AI tooling).
  • Proptech / real estate experience: property-management SaaS, rental or real-estate marketplaces, or proptech-fintech.
  • Data or analytics product experience: having owned a BI, dashboard, market-intelligence, or data-API product
  • AI / LLM product experience: shipped AI-powered features, prompt engineering and LLM feature development, or AI evaluation work (test-set creation, rating rubrics, A/B and regression testing, and monitoring quality, latency, and cost).
  • API documentation/prototyping (Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI).
  • Figma/Miro for requirements and user flows.

Equal opportunity

Rentsync is an equal opportunity employer. If you are selected to participate in the interview process and require unique accommodations, please don't hesitate to let us know. Successful candidates may be required to complete a criminal background check in the final phase of the interview process.
