Full job description

**we have become aware that there have been recruitment scams going around the industry. Brain Box Labs only ever uses the @brainboxlabs.com email domain, we will never send an email from a regular @gmail.com account**

About Us
Brain Box is an end-to-end digital product design and development agency specializing in modern applications (web and mobile), e-commerce, and marketing platforms. Clients choose us because we excel where complexity lives. We are the team that can untangle messy processes, introduce intelligent automation, and bring clarity to the most challenging problems. We’re not just building products; we are redefining how teams work.

Culture
Our core values of creativity, quality, collaboration, integrity, and curiosity are not just pretty words we put on the wall; they are embodied in how we show up every day. We ask “why” because clarity fuels great ideas, trust, and creative thinking. It’s a culture where curiosity is encouraged, voices are (truly) heard, and people grow fast. These are just some of the reasons people thrive and grow at Brain Box.

Perks
We want your paycheck to represent the work you do; some perks to showcase this include:

  • 5 weeks total time off – including vacation, personal days, company wellness days, and an extended break during the winter holidays
  • Health and dental benefits – company benefits for you and your family.
  • Social hour–dedicated time each week to celebrate wins and to catch up.
  • Team health days – every month has a long weekend!
  • Company innovation days – continually expanding our toolbox and capabilities.
  • Weekly DoorDash lunch delivery benefit – order from your favourite local restaurants!
  • Hybrid work model
  • Nomad work opportunities
  • Transit reimbursement

As much as we are interviewing you, we understand (and want) you to interview us. Before you apply, we want to highlight the following to ensure we manage your expectations:

  • Our standard working hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm EST, Monday to Friday.
  • We are in the office (Liberty Village, Toronto) 2 days a week.
  • The employer-sponsored benefits kick in after probation (3 months).

We care about your lifestyle and work-life balance needs and want to ensure this schedule works for you.

Position Overview
We're seeking a Product Manager who feels right at home in a client-facing role - someone who can read a room, rally a team, and keep projects moving with clarity and confidence. If you love shaping strategy, crafting airtight product requirements, and guiding digital products from idea to launch, you’ll thrive in this role.

You’ll be the bridge between our clients and our internal teams, turning needs into direction, direction into action, and action into results. You build trust with stakeholders, keep a close eye on budgets, and identify risks before they become roadblocks, while ensuring projects move effortlessly from start to finish.

What You’ll Do

  • Own product outcomes for client and internal projects from discovery through delivery.
  • Oversee and manage multiple projects for multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Develop and define the product vision and strategy based on market research, customer feedback, and business objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development, launch, and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain and prioritize the backlog, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and refine requirements with the team.
  • Run standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retros; ensure the team is unblocked and delivering consistently.
  • Collaborate with designers on user flows and UX decisions to ensure solutions are feasible and aligned with product goals.
  • Partner with developers to clarify requirements, make trade-offs, and adjust scope when constraints change.
  • Oversee product financials, including budgeting, pricing, and revenue forecasts.
  • Track and report on key metrics (e.g., adoption, retention, task completion, funnel performance) to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Communicate clearly with clients/stakeholders as the primary point of contact, including status updates, demos, risks, and decisions, while maintaining a positive relationship.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, client-facing agency role.
  • Degree from an accredited university or college, or relevant experience
  • Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills - can translate between business, design, and development teams
  • Skilled at managing stakeholders and maintaining trust while navigating discussions around budgets, timelines, and delivery expectations.
  • Exceptional experience writing technical scope
  • Previous experience in implementing business solutions
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Strong experience with Google Suite, Jira, DoneDone, Basecamp

Who You Are

  • Meticulous and comprehensive when crafting technical scopes
  • A self-starter with the ability to multitask and manage various tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • An unwavering pursuit of the “why” behind every ask and decision
  • An amicable personality and charisma that pair well with team and client-facing positions
  • Have a growth mindset, and be eager to learn and pivot to what is best for the client and product
  • Can lead your team to navigate uncertainty, solving problems with a positive attitude
  • Technically proficient with an inherent ability to comprehend web products and their underlying structure
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, coupled with your ability to manage time, take precise notes, and follow through expertly

Who This Role is Not For:

  • Someone without agency experience, or who prefers slower, single-product environments. This role involves working across multiple clients, each with different goals, timelines, and levels of ambiguity.
  • Someone who prefers to operate in only one lane (pure Product or pure Project Management). This role blends both, and success requires strong ownership across strategy and delivery.
  • Someone who has only managed a single product or initiative at a time. This role balances multiple projects and priorities, and comfort with context switching is key.
  • Someone who prefers ideal solutions over practical delivery. This role involves making thoughtful tradeoffs and moving projects forward within real-world constraints.
  • Someone who finds difficult conversations challenging. This role regularly navigates evolving expectations to provide clarity, and guide clients through decisions in a constructive way.
  • Someone who tends to say yes to everything . Success in this role comes from balancing client needs with scope, timelines, and team capacity.
  • Someone who needs fully defined requirements before getting started. This role will often be working through ambiguity and helping shape direction as you go.

Additional Information
We hire based on your skills and achievements. The team you can be part of is highly skilled and diverse, where everyone’s background, identity, and perspectives are welcomed.
