Systems Verification & Validation Specialist/Engineer

Job Description
The Verification and Validation (VV) role has the responsibility to ensure that the product requirements are addressed IAW their contractual Means Of Compliance (MOC). In order to fulfill this responsibility the VV collaborates with Program and Project/System Engineering during the development of system and sub-system specifications and their MOCs. Finally the VV ensures that quality Verification of Compliance (VOC) artifacts are developed and submitted to our customers.

Key Job Elements
  • Participates in system level requirements development in regards to the MOC/Verification Methods, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and executability.
  • Develops and maintains the program Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) based on the scope of the project, identifying the verification activities that will be performed and reported for each development phase of components, sub-systems and vehicle system.
  • Coordinates System Engineering (SE) verification efforts, to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of deliverables as well as their timely delivery to the internal and external customers. Updates the Requirements Repository application with the approved artifacts:
  • Prepares and submits demonstration and test readiness reviews, plans and reports.
  • Participates in dry-run and customer witnessed activities, both onsite and offsite.
  • Updates the DOORS Artifacts Workbook with the approved artifacts.
  • Attends customer status meeting, develops and provides VOC compliance metrics.
  • Leads customer Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) as the final step to compliance closure.


Required Qualifications
  • University Degree or College Diploma in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Engineering or similar technical background
  • Strong technical and analytical ability
  • Product knowledge of the LAV vehicle
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to give presentations to internal and external customers
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (10% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport


Preferred Qualifications
  • P. Eng or the ability to obtain a P. Eng
  • Knowledge of LAV vehicles requirements and performance
  • Strong knowledge of cross-departmental procedures / practices
  • Experience in requirements development and system/sub-system verification processes and methodology in defense industry
