Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support. Ideal candidates will have experience in patient care and a genuine desire to help others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
  • Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition.
  • Support clients with daily living activities and encourage their independence.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Document client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
  • Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
  • Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in assisted living, home care, nursing home, or senior care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Experience with medication administration is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
  • A background in hospice care or working with persons with disabilities is advantageous.
