Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced CDC to lead culinary operations in our vibrant restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for creating exceptional dishes. As a CDC, you will oversee food preparation, ensure food safety standards, and manage kitchen staff to deliver a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards and recipes
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service
  • Oversee food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to maintain food safety compliance
  • Manage food inventory, ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Develop new menu items and contribute to menu planning based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
  • Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and served promptly
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in adherence to health regulations
  • Lead team management efforts by training staff, providing feedback, and fostering a positive work environment
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to uphold service standards and operational goals
  • To schedule a team of 10 staff members and acurately forecast labour projections keeping in line with target percentages
  • Work with executive chef on menu and seasonal changes
  • Comfortable with temping steaks, understanding advanced gastro culinary principles, as well as costing menu items
  • Foster a positive environment and to operate a 'yes' kitchen

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment
  • Extensive food preparation, cooking, and food handling skills within the food industry
  • Prior restaurant management or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation standards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage team members effectively and lead by example
  • Experience in hospitality settings with a focus on customer service excellence
  • Familiarity with serving procedures and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
