Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced CDC to lead culinary operations in our vibrant restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for creating exceptional dishes. As a CDC, you will oversee food preparation, ensure food safety standards, and manage kitchen staff to deliver a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards and recipes
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service
- Oversee food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to maintain food safety compliance
- Manage food inventory, ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Develop new menu items and contribute to menu planning based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and served promptly
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in adherence to health regulations
- Lead team management efforts by training staff, providing feedback, and fostering a positive work environment
- Collaborate with restaurant management to uphold service standards and operational goals
- To schedule a team of 10 staff members and acurately forecast labour projections keeping in line with target percentages
- Work with executive chef on menu and seasonal changes
- Comfortable with temping steaks, understanding advanced gastro culinary principles, as well as costing menu items
- Foster a positive environment and to operate a 'yes' kitchen
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment
- Extensive food preparation, cooking, and food handling skills within the food industry
- Prior restaurant management or leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Demonstrated ability to manage team members effectively and lead by example
- Experience in hospitality settings with a focus on customer service excellence
- Familiarity with serving procedures and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
