Full job description

Well qualified principal is required for a very prestigious high school in surrey. We are looking for a principal who is ambitious, has strong leadership qualities and motivational personality. The applicant must be very driven, competitor, visionary with leadership qualities. The institution has an ideal atmosphere and a very supportive management. The Principal will play a crucial role in shaping the academic environment, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education. This leadership position requires a strong commitment to educational values, community engagement, and the ability to inspire both staff and students.

Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the school, ensuring alignment with educational goals and standards.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional practices that promote student learning including, assessment practices, and extracurricular programs to ensure a well-rounded education.
  • Manage the school’s budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to support educational initiatives.
  • Foster a positive school climate that encourages collaboration among staff, students, and parents.
  • Help in Recruiting, mentoring, and supporting a team of talented educators while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Evaluate staff performance regularly, providing constructive feedback and opportunities for professional development.
  • Engage with the community to build partnerships that enhance educational opportunities for students.
  • Ensure the school meets and exceeds all BC Ministry of Education requirements, including successfully preparing for and conducting ministry inspections
  • Ensure the school meets all compliance with all local, province, and federal regulations related to education.
  • Lead efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school environment.
  • Other duties, as deemed necessary by the school board for the role.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • A valid teaching certification and leadership experience in a high school setting.
  • Proven expertise in curriculum development, staff management, and student-focused leadership.
  • Deep understanding of BC Ministry of Education policies, Independent School Act regulations, and inspection requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community.
