Some of what you will do:

Deliver office supplies on assigned route to Staples customer accounts while meeting internal schedule and quality standards. Provide outstanding delivery service to customers and accept product returns as required. Delivery vehicle and all necessary equipment provided by Staples.

Specifically, you will:

  • Prepare for deliveries by gathering appropriate paperwork and performing pre-trip vehicle inspections while reporting any maintenance problems to supervisor.

  • Deliver products and accept returns from customers as per their requirements while obtaining signatures and completing all required paperwork.

  • Address and resolve customer feedback and inform supervisor of outstanding issues.

  • Engage in safe work practices and ensure cleanliness of vehicle is maintained.

Some of what you need:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Minimum of 1-year of truck driving experience of a 16 ft. or longer straight

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean 5-year driver’s abstract (a.k.a. driving record) that has no “major moving violations” in accordance with applicable provincial law.

  • Able to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted; experience using hand truck/dolly preferred.

  • Possess good knowledge of metro are a, able to navigate and read a map and use mobile Proof-of-Delivery devices.

  • Proficient in customer service, verbal and written communication, problem solving, time management and organization.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting under time constraints.

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, or balance weight for extended periods of time.

  • The employee must frequently lift, move, and/or carry up to a maximum of 70 pounds unassisted or may use dolly type equipment to deliver products to customers.

  • Must be able to enter and/or scan product and customer information into a hand-held scanner.

  • Drive throughout assigned route in all kinds of weather and road conditions.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
