Foremost has an immediate opening for a full-time Warehouse Assistant/ Forklift Operator for our Grande Prairie facility located in Hythe, Alberta. This position is responsible for loading and unloading, supporting control with inventory documentation and full adherence to safety compliance regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars and lifting devices
• Forklift operator moving of product in warehouse and in the manufacturing facility
• Ship and receive product
• Support inventory control with accurate documentation
• Coordinate the reception, handling, distribution, and storage of designated freight, product, and supplies that come in and out of corporate warehouses
• Communicate delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties
• Keep accurate records of items received and where they were stored, retrieve stored items, and trace shipments as needed
• Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action
• Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments; make adjustments where necessary
• Follow all workplace safety policies, and compliance regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
• Forklift operator is a strong asset
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving would be considered an asset
• Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
• Able to work well under pressure
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Must be physically able to lift heavy material (up to 50 lbs.)
• Safety Training an asset but will train as required
