Monette Farms Ltd. – Produce Division | Outlook, SK
Overview
Monette Farms Produce Division is looking for a Potato Crop Manager to take full ownership of potato production through harvest.
This role is hands-on. You will be in the field leading crews, making decisions, and driving results. You are responsible for team execution and ensuring the job gets done right, every time.
Key Responsibilities:
Crop Production & Execution
- Oversee all aspects of potato production including field prep, planting, irrigation, spraying, and harvest
- Monitor crop health and make timely decisions to protect yield and quality
- Manage irrigation systems and execute spray programs based on field conditions
- Lead harvest operations and ensure product moves efficiently to the cooler
- Maintain clean, organized fields post-harvest and prepare for next cycles
Team Leadership
- Lead, assign, and supervise machinery operators and harvesting crews
- Build and manage daily and weekly work schedules
- Train crews to meet standards for efficiency, quality, and safety
- Hold team members accountable to performance expectations
- Approve time tracking and ensure accurate payroll submissions
Quality, Safety & Standards
- Ensure all product meets customer specifications and quality expectations
- Enforce food safety, farm safety, and biosecurity procedures without exception
- Identify issues early and take action immediately
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
Data, Planning & Communication
- Track labor, crop performance, and field data to drive decisions
- Maintain records required for food safety and traceability
- Communicate regularly with the Farm Manager on progress, challenges, and labour needs
- Coordinate equipment use and maintenance with operations
General Farm Responsibilities
- Oversee upkeep of equipment, infrastructure, and supplies
- Step in where needed to keep operations moving
- Support other farm operations in the off-season where required to maintain overall efficiency across the farm
Qualifications & Skills
- Required: Experience in potato crop production or farm management
- Required: Experience in operating farm equipment
- Strong leadership and ability to manage crews in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, spray programs, and agronomic practices
- Ability to train, lead, and hold a diverse workforce accountable
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with data tracking and production reporting
- Spanish language is an asset
- Class 1A license is an asset
