Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Waterproofing leads all waterproofing operations within a construction environment, ensuring successful execution of projects across commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors. This role is responsible for overseeing field operations, project delivery, technical standards and financial performance of the waterproofing division.

This role is for a new vacancy in the organisation and is being actively recruited for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all waterproofing operations across projects, including foundation systems, roofing, membranes, drainage systems, flashing, and specialty applications
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure delivery is safe, on time, and aligned with specifications
  • Manage and support project managers, superintendents, and field teams to drive performance and accountability
  • Coordinate closely with other construction divisions (excavation, forming, civil) to ensure proper sequencing and integration of waterproofing scope
  • Monitor project progress, conduct site reviews, and resolve technical or operational challenges as they arise
  • Drive financial performance by managing budgets, tracking job costs, and maintaining strong margins
  • Support estimating and preconstruction efforts, including bid strategy, scope definition, constructability reviews, and value engineering
  • Ensure proper selection and installation of waterproofing systems, including membranes, coatings, flashing, and drainage solutions
  • Oversee quality control processes, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and long-term performance standards
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across operations, project management, and field crews
  • Establish and reinforce a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, and key clients to support repeat business and growth
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including securing new work and expanding the waterproofing portfolio
  • Identify operational risks, particularly related to water intrusion and system failure, and implement mitigation strategies

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in construction, with a strong focus on waterproofing or building systems
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role within a construction or specialty subcontracting environment
  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects and field teams
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred

Working Environment

  • This role will be performed in an Office based environment with regular site visits.

Pay: $130,000.00-$170,000.00 per year
