Bring Celebrations to Life at Carmen’s Event Centre

Carmen's Event Centre is a central part of Hamilton's celebrations, and you can help make each occasion truly memorable. As a member of the team at one of the city's most well-known event venues, you'll help bring weddings, milestone celebrations, and special events to life.

Position Details:

Job Type: part-time, permanent
Vacancy: This posting is for an existing vacancy (replacement for a currently unfilled position)
Compensation: $18.00 per hour + gratuities

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Set up and tear down event spaces, including moving furniture, décor, staging, and equipment.
  • Arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, and equipment according to floor plans.
  • Transport event materials supplies throughout the venue using carts, dollies, and other equipment.
  • Assist with audiovisual equipment, extension cords, and basic lighting.
  • Keep event spaces, storage areas, and back-of-house areas clean and organized.
  • Break down spaces quickly and efficiently between events.
  • Follow safe lifting and equipment-handling practices.
  • Work with the event team to meet setup and teardown timelines.

This position is well suited to someone who enjoys active, hands-on work and performs well in a busy event environment where the details make a difference.

The Spark You Bring to Every Celebration
  • Experience in event operations, general labour, or hospitality is an asset.
  • A strong work ethic and a willingness to perform hands-on, physically active work throughout the shift.
  • The ability to safely lift, carry, push, and move furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout the venue.
  • The ability to remain on your feet and move throughout the venue for extended periods.
  • Reliable, efficient, and comfortable working to setup and teardown deadlines.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
  • A team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
  • Flexible availability for daytime and morning shifts during the week is required, as well as evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
