Full job description

Kenilworth Media has an immediate opening for an Associate Editor.

Reporting to the Editor, responsibilities of this hybrid position in Richmond Hill, ON, include:

  • Assisting in the management of all facets of the day-to-day editorial process,
  • Assisting in developing and securing editorial specific to the needs of readers. This includes writing and editing content for print and online products in conjunction with the Editor,
  • Attending industry events, as required,
  • Liaising with production and design teams in a highly structured environment to assist in the timely production and design of the publication,
  • Posting content to publication websites,
  • Posting content to social media platforms,
  • Proven expertise in growing a magazine’s online and print presence.

What you will bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or equivalent,
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a relevant editorial capacity,
  • Excellent research, writing, and editing abilities using Chicago and AP styles,
  • Proven track record of meeting stringent deadlines,
  • Ability to work well under pressure,
  • Superior organizational, time management, and communication skills with an emphasis on customer service,
  • Proficiency in all major business software applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel),
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and WordPress,
  • Experience using AI to streamline processes an asset,
  • Familiarity with contact management software an asset,
  • Experience using website analytics to drive online content strategies,
  • Must be available to travel and work evenings or weekends, as needed,
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
