Our Client, Jensen’s Plumbing & Heating Ltd. is a family-run mechanical contracting business proudly serving the Lower Mainland for 40 years. Headquartered in Langley, BC, we specialize in full mechanical systems for wood frame apartment buildings, with a strong reputation built on integrity, high-quality workmanship, and long-standing relationships in the construction industry.

We are currently seeking passionate, people focused experienced Estimator to join our growing team.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 3 -5 years of mechanical estimator and/or project management experience, ideally in multi-family residential construction
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems in wood frame construction
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, and Project scheduling tools such as Procore, & Field Wire.
  • Knowledge of BC Plumbing Code, BC Building Code, WorkSafeBC regulations, and municipal permit processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Superior time management skills
  • Trade background (Red Seal Plumbing or HVAC) (Preferred)
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Nice to have)
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Responsibilities Include:

  • Review architectural blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs and perform material calculations.
  • Estimate labour requirements, equipment needs, and subcontractor costs.
  • Solicit and assess quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns and bid proposals.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment.
  • Analyze potential project risks and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain current pricing databases and accurate cost records.
  • Provide support for contract negotiations and change order pricing.
