REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1+ year hands-on experience working with both saltwater and freshwater aquarium systems (public aquarium, zoo, aquaculture facility, or similar).
  • Strong experience in water quality testing and analysis, including pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salinity, and temperature.
  • Experience maintaining aquarium life-support systems, including filtration, pumps, heaters, chillers, and lighting.
  • Valid Open Water SCUBA certification (PADI or equivalent).
  • Experience performing underwater work, including cleaning and maintaining deep aquarium tanks safely and effectively.
  • Ability to identify signs of fish stress or illness, troubleshoot issues, and follow basic treatment or escalation protocols.
  • Experience with fish and marine invertebrates feeding feeding, food handling, preparation, and nutrition.
  • Knowledge of marine and freshwater fish and invertebrates.
  • Strong problem-solving, observation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Relevant degree is an asset but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
  • Comfortable working in wet, physical environments, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and working in aquarium support areas.
  • Must be able to safely perform underwater tasks following established safety protocols.
