Job Title: Machine Operator (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Toronto
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, assembling, cleaning, and maintaining production equipment to ensure efficient and safe manufacturing of food products. This role ensures all equipment is properly set up, sanitized, and running efficiently while meeting quality and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor food processing machinery (fillers, sealers, labelers, etc.)
  • Assemble and disassemble machines and equipment for production runs, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Perform thorough washing and sanitation of machines and parts following cleaning procedures and food safety standards
  • Set up machines according to production specifications and product requirements
  • Perform routine checks to ensure proper machine functionality and product quality
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and sanitation procedures
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on equipment
  • Record production data, downtime, and quality checks accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area at all times
  • Work closely with supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues
  • Always ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or machine operation preferred
  • Experience with equipment assembly/disassembly and sanitation processes is an asset
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP)
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and hygiene standards
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift to 25 kg.
  • Willing to learn and grow

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to food production environments, cold and hot areas.
  • Frequent contact with water,
  • Day Shift: may require OT and weekends
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
