Full job description

Slap Communications Inc.
Remote (Work from Home) – Candidates must reside in the Fraser Valley, BC
Full-time | Must have a valid driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and be available for very occasional weekend and evening event coverage | $29–34/hour

A Social Media Manager and Content Creator at Slap Communications Inc. leads the day-to-day execution of each client's social media presence. Acting as their digital voice, this hybrid role takes ownership of content planning, creation, publishing, community management and performance while working collaboratively with the team to support each client's broader communications strategy. This is more than a content execution role. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, thinks strategically, identifies opportunities, anticipates trends and exercises excellent creative judgment. You should be confident bringing forward ideas, making recommendations and moving projects ahead while ensuring every decision aligns with each client's brand and objectives.

Lead Content Creator (70%)

  • Produce high-quality photography, video, graphic and written content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and emerging platforms.
  • Capture, edit, and deliver short-form videos, including Reels, TikToks and other platform-specific formats.
  • Write compelling captions, hooks, scripts and calls to action while adapting seamlessly to each client's voice.
  • Lead the creative development for assigned accounts through original concepts, storytelling approaches and content series.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, platform features, editing styles and cultural moments, selecting only those that authentically fit each client's brand rather than following trends for the sake of popularity.
  • Demonstrate a strong aesthetic sense, ensuring every piece of content reflects the client's identity while creating polished visual assets using Canva, CapCut and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Write polished, publication-ready copy that requires little to no editing while consistently capturing each client's unique voice.

Social Media Manager (30%)

  • Manage multiple client accounts simultaneously while maintaining exceptional organization, attention to detail and quality.
  • Lead the day-to-day social media management of assigned accounts by recommending content themes, campaigns and platform priorities.
  • Build and manage content calendars across multiple accounts while balancing priorities and deadlines.
  • Schedule and publish content across platforms, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timely execution.
  • Manage online communities by responding to comments and direct messages while fostering meaningful audience engagement.
  • Monitor conversations, public sentiment and emerging issues, escalating reputational concerns when appropriate.
  • Monitor platform updates, algorithm changes and emerging best practices, proactively adapting strategies before trends become mainstream.
  • Use platform insights and analytics to identify opportunities, improve performance and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Monitor metrics such as reach, engagement and conversion rates to tweak strategy and demonstrate ROI.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field and four or more years of professional social media and content creation experience are required. Candidates without a degree may be considered if they have five or more years of directly related professional experience.

AI Tools
We embrace AI as part of our creative workflow. Candidates should be comfortable using AI tools to support research, brainstorming, copy refinement and workflow efficiency. Strong judgment remains essential. AI should enhance creativity and productivity, not replace original thinking, critical thinking, sound judgment or authentic storytelling.
