Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Makeup Artist Program Instructor to teach our Advanced Makeup Artistry program. In this role, you will inspire aspiring makeup artists by sharing your expertise, guiding practical applications, and fostering a creative learning environment. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help students develop their skills and confidence in the beauty industry.
Duties
- Deliver engaging instruction on makeup application techniques, including bridal, party, HD/TV, runway, theatre, and airbrush, colour theory, anatomy, infection control, and skincare fundamentals
- Demonstrate professional makeup artistry skills including eyelash extensions, brow mapping, and basic special event hair styling
- Provide personalized feedback and support to students during practical exercises
- Incorporate photography and retail sales strategies into lessons to enhance student understanding of client presentation and upselling techniques
- Maintain a clean, sanitized workspace adhering to industry standards for sanitation and safety
- Assist students with portfolio development and interview preparation for beauty industry careers
- Foster a positive, motivating classroom environment that encourages creativity and professional growth
Requirements
- Proven experience as a professional makeup artist with expertise in makeup applications, hair styling, eyelash extensions, and brow mapping
- Strong knowledge of color theory, skincare practices, and sanitation standards within the beauty industry
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach complex concepts clearly and confidently
- Prior experience in cosmetology or related fields preferred; certification or licensing is a plus
- Ability to demonstrate customer service excellence and maintain professionalism at all times
- Knowledge of photography techniques for portfolio creation
- Experience in retail sales or upselling within a beauty setting
