Budtender – Permanent Part‑Time (Mill Bay Location)
Join our Mill Bay cannabis retail team as a permanent part‑time Budtender. We’re looking for dependable, customer‑focused individuals who can work three evening shifts per week: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Flexibility to help with sick‑day or holiday coverage is a strong asset. This role offers 18.5 hours per week. Start times vary depending on the schedule, with the earliest shift beginning at 3:30pm and the latest at 5:30pm. This schedule is permanent, so please apply only if you have consistent availability for these days.

Location: 2734 Barry Road, Mill Bay, B.C. (beside McDonald’s)

Typical Shifts
Friday: 3:30pm to 11:00pm
Saturday: 4:30pm to 11:00pm
Sunday: 5:30pm to 10:00pm

Evening and weekend availability is required to meet staffing needs.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, takes pride in staying organized, and thrives in a structured, fast‑paced environment. Previous cannabis industry experience is not required — we value strong customer service skills, reliability, and attention to detail.

This position is primarily a solo‑shift role, so applicants must be comfortable working independently. There are also opportunities to pick up additional shifts or grow into other roles as they become available.

What You’ll Learn

  • Product recognition and navigation of regulated cannabis categories
  • How to make compliant, thoughtful recommendations based on customer needs
  • Inventory fundamentals including receiving, stocking, and organization
  • How to work effectively with customers and collaborate within a professional team

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide calm, friendly, and professional customer service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail space
  • Follow and enforce all BC Cannabis regulations, including ID verification
  • Handle cash accurately and assist with inventory tasks
  • Communicate with the team using Slack and manage schedules through the Push app
  • Work confidently and safely on solo shifts

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong customer service skills and a genuine interest in helping people
  • Reliable, organized, and detail‑oriented
  • Comfortable following structured processes and regulations
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast‑paced retail environment
  • Available for evenings, weekends, and occasional daytime shifts
  • Valid driver’s license is an asset
  • Selling It Right certification required before starting
  • Minimum one year of retail or customer‑facing experience
  • Cash‑handling experience
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
  • Must be bondable
  • Comfortable working alone
  • Cannabis knowledge is not required but is an asset
