Events Team Lead

Maverick XM | Halifax / HRM, Nova Scotia (travel to event sites across NS as required)

Full-time | $25.00 per hour | Thursday to Monday

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Events Team Lead to help execute memorable and seamless events that captivate guests and elevate the brands we represent. Maverick XM is Atlantic Canada's experiential marketing agency, running brand ambassador programs, event marketing, sponsorship activations, street teams, and product samplings for national and regional brands.

This is a hands on execution role, not a desk job, and organization is the whole job. Your week starts and ends at the locker, prepping and packing everything our teams need in the field. On weekends you are out on the road doing in field check ins at live events, auditing that each activation is set up and running to brand standard, and training brand ambassadors on the spot. When an event is short staffed or unfilled, you are the one who steps in and works it.

We are looking for someone who is exceptionally organized. You will be tracking multiple events, assets, staff schedules, and moving deadlines at the same time, often from your vehicle between sites. If a case of product, a tent pole, or a uniform goes missing, an event does not happen. If you are the person whose checklists are always current and who notices the one thing everyone else missed, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Pack and prep for events at the locker on Thursdays and Mondays: pull assets, samples, tents, coolers, uniforms, and equipment, build out each event kit, and check everything back in after the weekend.
  • Work with the locker manager to maintain a meticulously organized locker, keeping inventory counts, kit lists, and equipment logs accurate so every activation ships complete and nothing goes missing.
  • Travel to live events on weekends to complete in field check ins, confirming each activation is set up on time, on brand, and running the way the client expects.
  • Complete field audits and submit clear reports with photos and notes so the office knows exactly how each event went.
  • Train and coach brand ambassadors in the field on brand standards, product knowledge, sampling procedures, and guest interaction.
  • Step in and work events directly when a shift is unfilled or a team member is short, covering the role yourself so the activation still happens.
  • Be on call for events, including evenings, weekends, and last minute coverage.
  • Lead and motivate on site teams to deliver outstanding service and execute each event flawlessly.
  • Set up and tear down event footprints, including load in, display build, and load out.
  • Communicate with the account managers throughout the weekend on staffing, inventory, and any issues in the field.
  • Keep organized records of event details, schedules, staffing, inventory, and post event feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health, food safety, and workplace safety regulations throughout all event activities.

Skills

  • Experience in event execution, hospitality, retail, promotions, or restaurant work, ideally with some responsibility for leading or training others.
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and making the right call in the moment without waiting for direction.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, venues, guests, and the office.
  • Exceptional organizational skills. This is the most important quality for this role. You must be able to track assets, kits, schedules, and paperwork across multiple events running at the same time without dropping details.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the discipline to work from checklists and count everything twice before it leaves the locker.
  • Effective time management to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy weekends.
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to jump in wherever the team needs you.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's licence, a clean driver's abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Availability Thursday through Monday, including weekends and evenings, plus on call coverage for events.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (event kits, coolers, tents, product cases).
  • Ability to stand and be on your feet for prolonged periods, indoors and outdoors, in all weather.
  • Willingness to travel to event sites across Nova Scotia as required.
  • Food Handler certification and Serve Right certification are a bonus, not a requirement.

What we offer

  • $25.00 per hour, full-time, with a consistent Thursday to Monday schedule.
  • Mileage reimbursement for travel to event sites.
  • Support in obtaining Food Handler and Serve Right certification.
  • A genuinely fun, fast moving team and no two weeks that look the same.

Join us as an Events Team Lead where your enthusiasm fuels unforgettable experiences. Bring your leadership, hustle, and hospitality to activations that leave a lasting impression on every guest you meet. Ready to MAV your mark?
