Full job description

Who We Are

Crazy Carrot exists to make affordable wellbeing a reality for everyone — one meal, one neighbourhood at a time. We believe good food should be fresh, fast, and flavourful: real ingredients, prepared with care, at a price that feels right.

  • Freshness First — every ingredient is real, crisp, and prepared from scratch
  • Integrity in Every Bite — we do what's right for our customers, our communities, and our planet
  • Speed with Soul — fast food doesn't have to be mindless; we bring real food, real fast, without compromise
  • Sustainability — eco-friendly packaging and a commitment to reducing waste
  • Affordability with Purpose — fresh food built to nourish, not overcharge

The Role

Crazy Carrot is opening its flagship downtown Toronto location, and we're looking for the person who will become our storyteller — the one who makes someone walking down the street stop scrolling and come eat here. You'll photograph and film our food, our team, and our opening-day energy, turn it into Reels, TikToks, and posts, and help manage the accounts and email campaigns that bring our community along for the ride.

This is a hands-on creative role, not a strategy or agency-management position. You'll build and own your own content calendar, sharing it with our Marketing team for alignment, and coordinate closely with Operations so everything you publish is accurate and on-brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: photograph and style menu items, beverages, and new product launches; capture behind-the-scenes content, team culture, events, and opening-day excitement
  • Video Production: create and edit Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, and Snapchat including trend videos, staff interviews, and customer reactions
  • Social Media Management: handle day-to-day posting, scheduling, captions, and community engagement across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Snapchat
  • Content Calendar: build and maintain your own monthly content calendar, sharing it with the Marketing team for visibility and alignment
  • Marketing & Email Support: support email campaigns and promotional graphics, and write on-brand copy for captions and subject lines
  • Operations: confirm with Operations before publishing anything tied to menu changes, pricing, availability, or limited-time offers
  • Marketing: align content and campaigns with brand standards and creative direction from the Marketing team

Requirements & Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • Excellent photography and videography skills using a high-quality cell phone (image and video quality must not be compromised)
  • Food photography, food styling, and hands-on experience creating Reels and TikTok content
  • Proficient in using content creation, photo editing, video editing, and graphic design tools of your choice to produce engaging, high-quality content. Able to write compelling social media captions and concise marketing copy that reflects Crazy Carrot's brand voice.
  • Organized and self-directed, comfortable owning a content calendar and working independently
  • Portfolio required: Instagram and/or TikTok account, examples of Reels or video, food photography, and any graphic design work

Nice-to-Haves

  • Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Later, Hootsuite, CapCut or Canva
  • Google Analytics or content performance reporting, DSLR experience, or prior restaurant/food brand content work

Our Culture

No matter your role or title, everyone at Crazy Carrot works from the same set of core values. This is what guides how we hire, train, and work together, every shift:

  • Care — we treat each other, our guests, and our community with kindness and respect
  • Character — we act with honesty, integrity, and accountability in everything we do
  • Contribution — we take pride in our work and support one another's success
  • Courage — we stay open to feedback, adapt to change, and step forward to solve challenges
  • Commitment — we show up, follow through, and hold ourselves to consistent standards

What You'll Get

  • Flexible, part-time schedule
  • Complimentary Crazy Carrot meal once per week while creating on-site content
  • 50% employee discount outside scheduled content sessions
  • Be part of the founding creative team at our brand-new downtown Toronto flagship, with genuine ownership over the brand's visual identity

The Details

Pay
: $22.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level

Work Arrangement: On-site at 555 Richmond St West, downtown Toronto, with flexibility for editing and calendar work to be done remotely

Anticipated Start Date: Early to mid-October 2026 (dependent on our store's construction timeline)
