Senior Formulation Scientist – Bio stimulants and Biologicals

Type: In-Office, Full-Time

This role presents an exciting opportunity to play a key part in shaping impactful products that directly influence crop productivity, sustainability, and long-term soil health.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Formulation Scientist, you will lead the development of innovative agricultural formulations, driving products from concept through to commercial application.

Formulation & Product Development

  • You will develop liquid, soluble, and granular formulations incorporating humic substances, biological organisms, nutrients, and plant-active compounds.
  • Work to enhance existing products by improving stability, compatibility, and biological effectiveness to meet evolving market needs.

Compatibility & Stability Testing

  • Evaluate tank mix compatibility with fertilizers, crop protection products, and other agricultural inputs to ensure seamless field application.
  • Conduct stability testing, including precipitation and pH tolerance assessments, to ensure product performance across diverse conditions.

Greenhouse & Plant Studies

  • Design and execute greenhouse trials to assess plant response to formulation changes under controlled conditions.
  • Analyze plant growth metrics such as root development, nutrient uptake, and stress response to guide product optimization.

Manufacturing & Scale-Up

  • Translate laboratory formulations into scalable manufacturing processes that maintain product integrity.
  • Establish production specifications and collaborate with operations teams to ensure consistency and quality at scale.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • A PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, agricultural chemistry, soil science, biochemistry, or a related discipline is required.
  • Proven experience developing and formulating agricultural inputs such as bio stimulants, biologicals, fertilizers, or adjuvants.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience working with liquid suspensions, soluble powders, and granular formulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and interpret greenhouse or plant-response studies.
  • Experience scaling formulations from lab development to commercial production is highly valued.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach to formulation challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting technical data and insights to both scientific and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with research, production, and commercial teams.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on delivering high-performance, market-ready solutions.
