Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care for animals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and a strong desire to support veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to ensuring the comfort and well-being of our furry patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization
  • Handle and restrain animals safely during procedures to minimize stress
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
  • Collect samples for laboratory testing and perform basic laboratory procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is documented properly
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
  • Laboratory experience is preferred to assist with diagnostic testing
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals of all sizes
  • Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures is an advantage
