Reporting to the Camp Management Superintendent, the Camp and Logistics Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations across all camp facilities. The role provides ongoing support to the Logistics Advisor to ensure safe and efficient transportation for all employees. The Supervisor also closely monitors occupancy across the various camps and ensures consistent application of established standards. In addition, the Supervisor ensures compliance with the housekeeping and cafeteria service specifications so that the offering is aligned and consistent across all our facilities. Based at the Windfall site, located in the Nord-du-Que9bec region, the supervisor will work a schedule of 15 days on followed by 13 days off. Transportation, accommodation, and meals provided.
Duties and responsibilities
- Supervise inventory management of materials, supplies, and consumables required for the site’s proper operation
- Follow up with contractors regarding their Health and Safety measures
- Actively participate in initiatives aimed at improving quality of life in the camps
- Coordinate personnel movements between camps, ensuring effective occupancy planning
- Conduct daily inspections of facilities and services to ensure contractor compliance with the specifications
- Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance work with internal teams and contractors
- Handle purchase requests and approve invoices received in the SAP system, ensuring information accuracy and adherence to internal procedures
- Set performance objectives based on departmental needs
- Maintain smooth communication with the Superintendent, provide regular reports on camp status, and ensure effective information flow between departments while resolving issues in real time
- Attend the daily meeting with the service contractor
- Promote continuous improvement and adherence to good work practices
- Report any situation that could affect employees health and safety at work as well as the physical integrity of the facilities;
- Participate in internal investigations in the event of an incident or non-compliance affecting camp operations or logistics.
Ensure that emergency procedures are known, posted, and complied with in all camps.
Assist in drafting, updating, and implementing procedures, processes, and policies related to camp operations, ensuring they are clear, comply with internal requirements, and are applied consistently across all facilities
Perform any other related duties as Camp Supervisor that are relevant to the project success.
Required qualifications
College diploma (DEC) in logistics, operations management, administration, or a related field.- 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisory role combined with 3 to 5 years of experience in logistics, camp management, operations, or field coordination;
- Work experience with First Nations (an asset);
- Bilingual (French and English); will work with English-speaking contractors and suppliers;
- Valid Class5 driver's licence.
Technical skills
- Good knowledge of software used for inventory management and logistics;
- Relevant experience in hospitality;
- Experience in food hygiene and sanitation (MAPAQ) (an asset);
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of SAP software (an asset).
Basic skills
- Ability to adapt to changing camp conditions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate information concisely and maintain effective communication with the team and management
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and achieve established goals and objectives;
- Ability to anticipate and resolve problems;
- Ability to work harmoniously with other team members.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Adherence to established processes and safety rules.
