Silverstone Care Centre is a brand new, beautiful, long-term care home in Sechelt, BC, that has lots of natural light, very cozy surroundings and lovely views of the ocean. We are close to the downtown shops and services in Sechelt with a transit bus stop just steps from our front door. Silverstone is the newest home in the Trellis family with other homes located in North Vancouver and Kamloops. We are seeking a full time recreation assistant to passionately contribute to the delivery of quality-of-life programs to Residents by focusing on creating joy through connections, engagement and feeling valued. As a recreation assistant you embrace meeting the Residents' physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs & interests through a Person and Family personal-centred care approach.

As the successful candidate, you are aligned with our values, are passionate about recreation, enjoy the chance to multi-skill and have exceptional communication skills. In addition, your interests, skills and education include:

• Successful completion of a recognized Recreation Therapy Program or Activity Assistant diploma or Certificate;
• Demonstrated knowledge of recreation programs including a minimum of one year recreation experience in Long Term Care and working with individuals with dementia and/or comparable roles;
• GPA (Gentle Persuasive Approach) training as an asset;
• Basic computer skills (including MS Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word) Additional certifications include First aid CPR C, ‘Serving it right' and Food Safe Level 1.

Hours: Monday - Friday (Friday is a evening shift).

Pay: $31.64 per hour
