Responsibilities

  • Team player attitude
  • Verifying MTOs and material receiving
  • Reading & interpreting blueprints
  • Planning erection sequence
  • Carrying packaged scopes to completion
  • Working at heights
  • Assembling complex rigging assemblies
  • Executing heavy lifts, including modules, equipment and buildings
  • Troubleshooting fitment issues and providing suggested dispositions
  • Executing work while maintaining compliance with quality standards and safety procedures as outlined in Stuart Olson and OH&S procedures

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Ironworker ticket
  • H2S Alive, Mandatory
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS 09 and WHMIS, Mandatory
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection, Mandatory
  • CSTS Mandatory
  • Rigging experience required
  • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

Working Conditions

  • Working at heights
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Must be clean shaven
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, foam backed safety glasses
  • Hoodies are not permitted on site, even if tucked in.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
