Warehouse Supervisor (Day Shift)

Galaxy Freightline Inc. is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our busy day shift operations at our Mississauga cross-dock facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising warehouse staff, coordinating freight movement, and ensuring our customers receive the exceptional service Galaxy Freightline is known for.

About the Role

Our warehouse is a high-volume cross-dock operation handling:

  • Less-than-Truckload (LTL) freight
  • Full Truckload (FTL) freight
  • Freight consolidation and deconsolidation
  • 53' dry vans
  • Rail containers
  • Straight trucks

Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Operations Manager, Customer Service Manager, and Claims Representative, you'll play a key role in ensuring freight moves safely, efficiently, and on time.

What You'll Do

As Warehouse Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of our cross-dock warehouse.
  • Direct a team of warehouse associates, forklift operators, and dock staff.
  • Coordinate the loading and unloading of trailers, containers, and straight trucks.
  • Oversee freight consolidation and deconsolidation.
  • Ensure freight is handled safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Assign dock doors and manage daily labour resources.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and productivity.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop warehouse employees.
  • Work closely with Dispatch and Customer Service to meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor warehouse KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with investigating freight damage and operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and health & safety standards.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of warehouse experience in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume cross-dock environment.
  • Experience handling LTL and FTL freight.
  • Forklift operating experience.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and transportation or warehouse management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Knowledge of freight securement and load planning.
  • TDG certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • First Aid certification is considered an asset.
