Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated MOA/ Ophthalmic Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional patient care within a busy ophthalmology practice. This role involves supporting ophthalmologists with patient examinations, managing electronic medical records, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Prior experience in medical offices or optical settings is highly valued, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic. The Ophthalmic Technician plays a vital role in enhancing patient experience and supporting clinical workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations, including taking visual acuity measurements and conducting diagnostic tests
  • Prepare patients for eye exams and ensure comfort throughout procedures
  • Manage electronic medical records accurately using systems like Epic, documenting exam findings and patient information
  • Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and handling patient inquiries
  • Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures and addressing questions or concerns
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and equipment
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient clinic flow and high-quality patient service

Experience

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting, especially within ophthalmology or optometry, is preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic is highly desirable
  • Experience in patient care, front desk duties, or optical services is advantageous
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to eye care enhances effectiveness in this role
  • Retail sales or sales experience related to optical products can be beneficial for patient interactions involving eyewear selection
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus, demonstrating adaptability across diverse patient populations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$27.00 per hour
