Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and experience managing payroll for multiple clients.

This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can process payroll accurately, maintain compliance, communicate effectively with clients, and work independently within a structured environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule for multiple clients
  • Prepare and submit payroll remittances and source deductions
  • Prepare T4s, T4 Summaries, ROEs, and year-end payroll reporting
  • Maintain employee records and payroll documentation
  • Calculate taxable benefits, vacation pay, statutory holiday pay, commissions, bonuses, and payroll adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation
  • Assist clients with payroll-related inquiries and troubleshooting
  • Support WSIB, EHT, and other payroll-related filings
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Work closely with bookkeeping and tax teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Complete assigned work independently while meeting established deadlines

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of payroll administration experience
  • PCP designation (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Payroll Administration, Business, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience preparing T4s, ROEs, payroll remittances, and year-end reporting
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple clients or entities
  • Proficiency with payroll software and accounting systems
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Wagepoint, Payworks, ADP, or similar platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and client service

Pay: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
