Payroll & Benefits Administrator

Location: Richmond, BC

Function & Scope: The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will be a highly skilled and customer-focused Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll and benefits services while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and collective agreement requirements. As a vital member of our team, you will work closely with the team, contributing to a positive work culture that fosters growth and development. Key responsibilities include interpretation of policies, processing benefits, ensuring system compliance, handling benefits enquiries, benefits reconciliations to vendor invoices and T4s, processing payroll and answering payroll enquiries. This role requires the ability to build credible and valued relationships through true partnership. Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Admin:

· Process and administer payroll accurately and on time for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and unionized employees, ensuring compliance with regulations and tax laws

· Maintain accurate employee records, including time and attendance, vacation, sick leave, and other types of leave, while ensuring confidentiality and adhering to data privacy regulations

· Review, validate, and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

· Prepare and process payroll-related documentation, including Records of Employment (ROEs), remittances, year-end reporting, and T4 statements.

· Maintains Payroll-specific records (changes in wage/salary rates; pension, insurance, mandatory deductions; new hires, terminations, leave of absence, etc.)

Benefits Admin:

· Administer employee benefits programs, including health and dental plans, pension plans, and other perquisites, and process employee changes accurately and efficiently.

· Maintains records for HRIS with current information for benefit elections, enrolment, changes, terminations etc.

· Acts as a liaison between employees and benefits providers

· Maintain accurate benefits recording and reporting.

· Support benefits communication and education initiatives for employees.

General:

· Provide exceptional service by responding to employee, manager, and union inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and leave administration with professionalism and attention to detail.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all teams to support employee lifecycle activities and ensure accurate and timely processing of related updates.

· Generates standard reports and submits monthly reports as directed.

· Participates in audit and other compliance related activities

Qualifications & Experience

· PCP required (PLP desired)

· Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role in a unionized environment with a proven track record of success

· Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
