Job Summary

We are a growing mixed animal practice, with a busy orthopedic referral team. We are located in Almonte, just 20 minutes west of Ottawa. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist/Client Care Representative, but are willing to help teach on the job. Our reception staff are the front facing part of our team, and are a critical part in making sure that clients and pets are comfortable in the clinic. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with client communication, has a positive attitude and is able to multi-task and prioritize within a team setting. We are looking to fill a full time position, with the occasional weekend and a regular evening shift. We offer health and dental benefits as well as a uniform allowance and staff discounts on veterinary care.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls as they come in and coordinate with veterinarian as needed
  • Monitor messages and emails from clients to support client communication
  • Schedule appointments, set up patient files, and add communication to files
  • Check in patients and coordinate patient movement into exam rooms
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ care.

Experience

  • Previous experience within a veterinary clinic, in the medical field, or through a Veterinary Assisstant program is strongly preferred, but we are able to teach on the job as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with both animals and their owners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
