Salary :


$56 670 - $100 410

  • The Educational Consultant at the top of the scale receives a salary increase equal to the difference between the maximum rate of the salary scale and the maximum rate of the salary scale of teachers currently in effect. As of April 1, 2026, the total salary for a consultant at step 18, including the increase, is $105 432.

Nature of the work



The position of education consultant encompasses, in particular, responsibility for providing advice and support to staff of educational institutions and services in the implementation, development and evaluation of programs of study, class management and instructional materials.

Recognition of Acquired Competencies services supports adult learners in obtaining official recognition for the skills and knowledge they have gained through work experience, training, or life experience, without necessarily having followed traditional academic pathways. The goal is to help candidates earn a diploma or certification more efficiently by validating what they already know.



Description of tasks



Specific to the RAC services :

  • Coordinate and manage the implementation of RAC activities
  • Contribute to the promotion of the programs offered in the RAC process
  • Participate in the development of RAC instrumentation and the monitoring of candidates' progress with administrative management tools specific to the RAC.
  • Propose new avenues for the development of programs offered in RAC in line with the needs of the labour market and is involved in their development.
  • Participate in the development of the continuing education service offer
  • propose to develop and implement best practices in RAC, in a spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Any other related activity without being exhaustive.

General tasks of this classification

  • Participate in carrying out the educational project and the special projects of schools.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of their success plan, while complying with the academic and administrative requirements of both the education institutions and the school board.
  • Contribute to the implementation of programs of study and training.
    • Provide advice to teachers and administration concerning the interpretation of these programs
    • Designs and leads training workshops and sessions on program components
  • Collaborate in developing learning situations and supports experimentation in class.
  • Provide advice and support to teacher either individually or in a group format in matters pertaining to their daily teaching activities.
  • Develop or select and deliver training and instrumentation activities designed to respond to needs in pedagogical adaptation, innovation, and development.
  • Provide teachers with learning evaluation tools and guides them in the design, preparation, or adaptation of evaluation tools.
  • Work with teachers to prepare and implement strategies and projects aimed at helping students who are experiencing or who are likely to experience social maladjustments or learning difficulties.
  • Advise management, teaching or professional staff on matters pertaining to professional development programs, plans the programs and evaluates the results.
  • Analyze and recommend the purchase of learning materials, supplementary materials, equipment, software and program packages, and provide advice on room layouts.
  • Advise school staff on the means for integrating technology into teaching
    • Participate in carrying out related projects
    • Prepare and deliver training and information workshops on components of the program for integrating technology.
  • Collaborate with other school resources, partner organizations and the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur.

Desired profile



Schooling

A bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialty, notably education.

A graduate-level degree related to intervention in vocational training and /or special education will be considered an asset.

Other requirements

  • Bilingual (Written and Spoken)
  • Experience with Adult Learners and Educators (considered an asset)
  • Knowledge of Vocational Programs and RAC (considered an asset)
  • Collaboration skills
  • Project management skills
  • Driver’s License (frequent travel in Estrie and Monteregie)
  • Available evenings/weekends (to accomodate the candidates' schedules)
