Overview

I am seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Baker's Assistant to join my sourdough micro bakery. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about baking. The Baker's Assistant will support myself in daily operations, ensuring the production of high-quality baked goods and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. Prior experience in food handling or kitchen settings is a plus, but welcome motivated candidates eager to learn. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in baking, sourdough, and food safety within a dynamic food industry environment.

Duties

  • Assist bakers with preparing ingredients and mixing dough or batter for various baked goods
  • Mixing & fermentation of sourdough bread
  • Prepare and package baked items
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
  • Follow food safety standards and proper sanitation practices at all times

skills

  • Experience or familiarity with baking and sourdough is preferred
  • Food industry experience is advantageous
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and baking processes
  • Strong understanding of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently
  • Basic kitchen experience including use of baking equipment and tools
  • Packaging skills to ensure products are presented attractively and safely for sale
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
