Snow Labourer – Winter Operations

TDC Contracting is looking to hire Snow Labourers to join our growing Winter Operations team.

We are seeking dependable, hardworking individuals who take pride in their work and are committed to providing exceptional snow and ice management services across our commercial and institutional properties.

Winter operations are weather-dependent and don't follow a traditional schedule. We are looking for individuals who understand the importance of reliability, attention to detail and being available when the snow starts falling.

What We Offer

  • $25.00–$28.00 per hour for Snow Labourers, based on experience
  • $32.00–$36.00 per hour for experienced Snow Labourers providing their own suitable vehicle for winter operations*
  • Assigned commercial and institutional properties
  • Long hours available during major snow events
  • Professional, safety-focused, team-oriented work environment
  • Opportunity for returning seasonal employment
  • Potential year-round work opportunities

*The $30.00–$35.00/hour personal vehicle rate is all-inclusive of wages, vehicle use, fuel and mileage. No additional vehicle or mileage reimbursement will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Shovel snow from sidewalks, entrances, walkways, stairs, ramps and other designated areas
  • Apply salt and sand as required
  • Maintain safe and accessible pedestrian areas throughout assigned properties
  • Return to previously serviced areas as required during ongoing snowfall to maintain safe conditions throughout the duration of a snow event
  • Complete snow clearing and ice management to TDC Contracting and client standards
  • Accurately complete required snow logs, site inspections and service documentation
  • Identify and immediately address snow and ice hazards
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and supervisors throughout your shift
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures and site-specific requirements
  • Leave each and every assigned site in immaculate condition — no snow or ice hazards are to remain in serviced areas upon completion

Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must be available for 24/7 on-call winter operations
  • Available to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays
  • Able to work extended shifts during major snow events
  • Physically capable of repetitive shovelling, lifting and walking for extended periods
  • Comfortable working outdoors in severe winter weather conditions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately complete snow logs and site inspections
  • Previous commercial snow removal experience is considered an asset
  • Valid Class G driver's licence is an asset

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for individuals who:

  • Show up when they're needed
  • Understand that winter operations are weather-dependent and require flexibility
  • Work efficiently during long and demanding snow events
  • Take pride in leaving every property immaculate, safe and hazard-free
  • Pay attention to the details instead of simply getting the job done
  • Can identify and address potential snow and ice hazards without having to be told
  • Work well independently while being part of a larger team
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and dispatch
  • Put safety first, every shift

If you're dependable, aren't afraid of hard work and take pride in leaving a property better than you found it, we'd love to hear from you.

Benefits:

  • On-site parking
