Your Opportunity

  • Under the general supervision of the Retail Services & Logistics Manager, the Customer Service Representative (CSR) – Pop-Up Store (On-Call) supports Campus Store operations during peak periods and as scheduled. The position operates temporary Campus Store pop-up locations by distributing pre-packaged course material orders, stocking customer pick-up lockers, processing retail sales of Campus Store merchandise, and providing routine customer service to students, staff, and the public. The position maintains an organized and welcoming pick-up area and performs related duties as required.


Functions and Duties

  • Provides friendly and courteous customer service by greeting customers, answering routine questions regarding Campus Store products and services, and directing more complex inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
  • Distributes pre-packaged customer orders by verifying customer identity, locating prepared orders, and providing orders directly to customers or assisting with smart locker pick-up as required.
  • Loads and replenishes customer pick-up lockers with pre-packaged orders to support efficient self-service collection.
  • Processes retail sales of Campus Store merchandise, including clothing and other retail items, using the point-of-sale system; accepts electronic payments and follows established cash handling and transaction procedures.
  • Processes intercampus deliveries of merchandise and customer orders by unpacking, organizing, and storing in designated locations for pickup, while maintaining orderly stock and storage areas.
  • Sets up and maintains temporary Campus Store pop-up locations, ensuring merchandise is displayed neatly and the work area remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Identifies routine issues such as missing orders, damaged merchandise, or customer concerns and refers unresolved matters to the Retail Services & Logistics Manager or designated Campus Store staff.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • One year of recent customer service, retail, cashier, or related experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service excellence and the delivery of a positive retail and customer pick-up experience.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally with students, staff, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships in a collaborative, team-oriented environment to support high levels of customer service.
  • Sales-oriented with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance customer experience, increase sales, and improve Campus Store services and merchandise offerings.
  • Adaptable and open to learning new systems, processes, products, and technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate promptly and effectively regarding operational issues, customer concerns, and service requirements.
  • Proficient using point-of-sale systems and standard office software; ability to troubleshoot routine system or data entry issues.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately for cash handling, inventory, and retail transactions.
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
