Showtime Presents is seeking experienced Set Designers / Scenic Designers for seasonal immersive pop-up experiences taking place in select cities across the U.S. and Canada.
Our productions transform existing bars and event spaces into fully immersive Halloween and Christmas environments for approximately 4–8 week runs. These are complete venue transformations designed to be theatrical, highly detailed, durable and visually impactful for guests and photography.
Current Designs
- Nightmare – Halloween: Dark, theatrical, gothic haunted-parlour experience with Victorian-inspired décor, dramatic lighting and elegant horror elements.
- Jingle – Christmas: Elevated, sophisticated Christmas experience featuring warm lighting, champagne gold, deep greens, velvet, brass and luxury holiday décor.
- Elf – Christmas: Colorful, playful and maximalist Christmas experience featuring oversized props, candy-inspired elements, tinsel, ornaments and interactive photo moments.
What You'll Do
- Adapt the established production concept to a specific venue.
- Develop the overall scenic design and layout for the space.
- Design treatments for entrances, ceilings, walls, bars, tables, seating and guest areas.
- Create immersive scenic elements and designated photo moments.
- Source appropriate props, décor, fabrics, lighting and scenic materials.
- Fabricate or coordinate fabrication of custom scenic elements as needed.
- Coordinate and/or oversee installation of the completed design.
- Work with the Showtime Presents production team and venue representatives throughout the project.
- Ensure installations are durable, safe and suitable for an active bar/hospitality environment.
- Deliver a completed, photography-ready venue prior to opening.
- Design with storage, reuse and future installation in mind.
Requirements
- Previous experience in set design, scenic design, experiential design, theatre, events, hospitality, retail displays or themed environments.
- Portfolio showing previous completed installations or builds.
- Strong understanding of scenic materials, sourcing and fabrication.
- Ability to take a project from concept through installation.
- Experience working within tight production and installation timelines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to create highly immersive environments.
- Ability to collaborate with production teams, venue management and installation crews.
- Knowledge of safe temporary installation practices, including overhead décor, lighting and flame-retardant materials.
