Specialist Support Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Specialist Support Assistant to support children with special needs in educational or healthcare settings. The successful candidate will help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment while assisting with daily activities and individual care needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist children with daily routines, learning activities, and personal support.
  • Implement individualized support plans and accommodations.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Administer medication when required and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals.
  • Support health, safety, and well-being in the learning or care environment.
  • Assist with basic care tasks and maintain organized documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and support strategies.
  • Ability to follow care plans and medication procedures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and team-oriented approach.
  • Relevant training or certifications in education, healthcare, or support services are an asset.

Pay: $65,500.00-$70,000.00 per year
