Ace Hotel Toronto is our first-ever spot in Canada, built from the ground up in the heart of the Fashion District, near St. Andrew’s Playground Park. Our civic hub here is animated by a legacy of homegrown magic, spurred by ingenious types with off-the-wall ideas who’ve long made the multicultural mosaic of this city their home — from Queen West and Chinatown to the famed Horseshoe Tavern and on down to the shimmering shores of Lake Ontario.
CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform nightly audits, including carefully scrutinizing transactions, providing notes & follow ups, closing and rolling the dates for the hotel.
- Transmit credit cards, complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents (Daily Revenue and Cash sheets report).
- Maintain and adhere to all appropriate reporting schedules and checklists; including, but not limited to: opening checklists, closing checklists, daily bucket checks, inventory, room assignments, etc.
- Master all areas of the Front Office operations including Opera, Synxis, Interfaces, call accounting system, etc.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any and all customer concerns, while proactively meeting guests’ needs on the night shift.
- Handle cash, make change and balance an assigned house bank. Accept and record vouchers, travelers’ checks and other forms of payment. Perform accurate, moderately complex arithmetic functions using a calculator. Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the property management system. Individuals are capable of moving assigned cash from storage vault to drawer at front desk and back.
SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS
In addition to the core focus & responsibilities, the candidate is expected to complete the following duties:
- Answers all reservations, main hotel switchboard, and emails in a friendly manner, using clear English communication. When processing emails or listening to callers, ensure a clear understanding of their inquiries and requests. Promptly provides accurate information regarding availability of accommodations and other requested information.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
- Perform various duties of Front Desk agent, Accounting, Reservations Agent, and Telephone operator in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction and service recovery.

- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
- Must have a schedule that allows for night shifts.
- Flexible schedule required which includes weekends and holidays.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required.
Minimum 12 months experience as a night auditor for a mid-sized hotel.
Previous experience working in a hotel front desk or accounting department preferred.
LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, and REASONING ABILITIES
Candidate must meet the following cognitive abilities:
- Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.
- Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner.
- Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred).
- Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The typical environment is an office atmosphere with ambient room temperatures, ambient lighting, and common office equipment.
