Job Overview
Elysian Health is seeking a patient-focused and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in South Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MOA who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and enjoys creating a welcoming, seamless experience for patients from their first interaction through their healthcare journey.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome patients and provide a professional, friendly, and efficient front desk experience
  • Register patients, verify information, and maintain accurate electronic medical records
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments across multiple healthcare services
  • Respond to patient inquiries by phone, email, and in person while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Prepare patient documentation and ensure records are accurate and up to date
  • Process MSP and private billing accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and the administrative team to support seamless patient care
  • Maintain patient confidentiality while ensuring accurate documentation
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment

Qualifications

  • Medical Office Assistant (MOA) Diploma or equivalent education and experience
  • Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant or in a healthcare administrative role is preferred
  • Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems; familiarity with Jane App and/or Myle is considered an asset
  • Strong customer service and patient communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, computer, and multitasking abilities with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities while remaining calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, MSP billing, and the public and private healthcare systems is considered an asset
