Duties
- Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Maxident and Tracker, ensuring optimal patient flow and minimal wait times
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and update medical records accurately within electronic medical records systems
- Handle multi-line phone systems professionally, directing calls efficiently to appropriate team members or departments
- Maintain organized patient files, update medical terminology records, and ensure compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with billing procedures, insurance claims processing, and payment collections to support the financial operations of the practice
- Coordinate with dental professionals to prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary supplies are stocked and ready for procedures
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries both in person and via electronic communication channels, providing excellent customer service at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience working as a dental receptionist or in a dental office environment is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental office software such as Maxident is essential for efficient workflow management
- Familiarity with medical terminology, electronic medical records (EMR), and insurance billing processes is required
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy office setting
- Proven experience handling multi-line phone systems with professionalism and clarity
- Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding front desk support and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Previous experience in medical or healthcare office environments is advantageous but not mandatory
