Part-Time Medical Office Assistant (MOA) – Mondays

A fast-paced, established private podiatry clinic in Kitsilano is seeking an experienced Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team on Mondays.

Position Details

  • 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM shift on Mondays
  • $25–$29 per hour, depending on experience
  • Opportunity for future casual shifts (irregular shifts on a mutually agreeable basis)
  • Training will be provided

We are a busy, patient-focused practice that values professionalism, empathy, and exceptional customer service. Our small team of specialized physicians and staff enjoy working collaboratively to meet the needs of our diverse patient population. The successful candidate will be an organized and dependable team member who is comfortable working in a busy clinical environment and managing multiple priorities throughout the day.

Qualifications

  • Previous MOA, CDA, or medical/dental office experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, email, and internet-based applications
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred but not required

  • Quick learner who is detail-oriented and takes initiative
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and professionalism
  • Possesses excellent time-management and multitasking skills

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering patient phone calls and email inquiries
  • Greeting patients and providing excellent customer service in person and on the phone
  • Scheduling appointments and diagnostic tests
  • Responding to physicians' instructions and assisting with patient communications
  • Cleaning and disinfecting treatment rooms
  • Disinfecting and sterilizing instruments
  • Electronic filing and faxing using the Plexia EMR system
  • Communicating clinic policies, procedures, and fees
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Creating invoices and receipts, processing payments, and operating the point-of-sale (POS) system
