Handler and Driver

Full Job Description

The Big Bounce Theory is an event rental company that specializes in inflatables, tents, chairs, foam machines, tables, chairs, generators and more. The handler would be responsible for loading trucks/trailers arriving to delivery sites on time, interacting with customers, setting up units, taking them down, and unloading at our shop.

Must be able to interact with customers as the handler will be the face of the company representing the company at events. Ability to lift and move heavy objects, tow a trailer with a truck, and punctuality is a must!

Education

• No degree required

Experience

• Customer facing experience
• Hauling 10ft -16ft trailers with a truck
• Transporting heavy equipment with a dolly
• Loading/unloading half ton trucks

Work setting

• Locations will usually be different
• Some warehouse setting

Tasks

• Arrive on time and in proper attire
• Hitch a trailer
• Use a dolly to load and secure units in a truck or trailer
• Contact customers when you are on your way
• Follow customer instructions
• Set up in a safe and timely manner
• Arrive once event has ended to begin equipment takedown
• Ensure everything is packed up
• Bring units back to our shop
• Unload truck or trailer placing equipment in their correct places

Transportation/travel information

• Must have reliable transportation as we operate just outside of Sherwood Park

Work conditions and physical capabilities

• Must be available for long hours on weekends
• Heavy lifting required
• Repetitive tasks
• Can sometimes get dirty
• Often outside so must dress for the weather
• Frequent driving to new locations

Weight Handling

• Up to 32kg (70 Ibs)

Hours

• up to 35 hours/week depending on bookings and availability

Job Types

• Casual, Seasonal (May until October) with a possibility to extend occasionally during winter

Contract length

• 6 months minimum

Salary

• $15.00/hr to $20.00/hr depending on age/experience
