Overnight Surveillance Operator Role

Location: Fully In-Office Role in Downtown Vancouver (Free Parking Available)
Shift Time: 9:00PM (PST) to 5:00 AM (PST) - 8 Hours shifts.
Schedule: Full-Time | Rotating Weekends (1 weekend on, 1 weekend off, 2 half weekends per month)

This is a specialized surveillance and investigation role. Candidates must bring proven experience in CCTV monitoring, Retail loss prevention/theft detection, incident reporting, and alarm response. Applications without the required qualifications will not be considered.

We are seeking an experienced Overnight Surveillance Operator to support a multi-national retail corporation’s Asset Protection Team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring CCTV across multiple retail locations, managing and responding to motion alarms, detecting and reviewing theft-related incidents, and dispatching law enforcement when required. You will also conduct detailed incident reviews, write professional reports, and contribute to investigations through Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) research.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a fast-paced environment, strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize several assignments simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • CCTV Monitoring for multiple locations via motion alarms, conducting access control, reporting incidents, or suspicious behavior and contacting the authorities when necessary.
  • Review incidents via CCTV and archive information into case management databases and provide timely reports to the Regional Managers.
  • Proficiency in conducting OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) searches, analyzing data from various sources, and synthesizing findings into comprehensive reports to identify and mitigate potential risks effectively.
  • Liaisons between contractors, company executives and various individuals both internally and externally, at all levels of the organization.
  • Manages and directs all incoming inquiries appropriately and professionally and where required.
  • Provides administrative support to the Asset Protection Partners through independent formatting, preparing, and handling of correspondence, documents, emails, presentations, and/or monthly reports, while maintaining high level of confidentiality.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Retail Loss Prevention (LP), Theft Detection, or Surveillance Operations within a retail environment.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working overnight shifts.
  • Experience conducting OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) research or analytical investigations
  • Associates, Bachelors, or Certificates in Criminology, Cyber Security, Communications, Crime Analysis, Forensics, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related fields is preferred.
  • English language skills at 100% literacy is required as this role involves conducting detailed reports, analyses, and communication
  • Knowledge of Dataminr is an asset Asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding literacy, Min. Typing Speed of 50 WPM
  • Proficient in MS Office. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint)
  • Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy.
  • Self-motivated, independent thinker who can work independently and in a Team.
  • Able to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptive in response to rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team, offering support and assistance as needed.
