Job Details

The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for a Full-Time (1.00 f.t.e.) Temporary PE/Health/Athletic Director Teacher at Fairview High School. This position will commence on August 27, 2026 and will continue until June 29, 2027. The inital teaching assignment will include PE 10/20/30, Science 8, Jr. High Health and Athletic Director duties.

Fairview High School offers complete programming for grades seven though twelve. Our schools programming covers both academic and non academic courses coupled with a large variety of electives. Junior high students are offered Industrial Arts, Home Economics and French as well as Art and Computer programs. Fairview High School is fortunate to have partnered with Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) - Fairview campus to offer the senior high students the opportunity to use the new fitness center in Phys. Qualifications:

  • Experience and/or training in teaching junior high level grades.
  • Excellent communications skills with students, staff and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and educational assistants to ensure student success.
  • Proven ability to differentiate lessons to support students’ achievement.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • A keen understanding of assessment practices.
  • The ability to use technology to support learning in the classroom .

Requirements:

  • Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check, dated within six (6) months of your application.

This teaching position falls under the Collective Agreement between the Alberta Teachers' Association and the Peace River School Division.

Annual Salary Range: $ 66,520 to $ 112,451 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Peace River School Division).
