Are you looking to start your career in the Food & Beverage industry? This Stewarding position will provide you with the start you need to help grow your career while enjoying a work life balance and all the great activities living in Banff brings.

Starting Rate: $21.20 per hour.

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $25.61 per hour.

For this role we have seasonal & some full-time positions available which will be discussed in the interview.

SUBSIDIZED STAFF ACCOMMODATIONS OFFERED FOR RELOCATING CANDIDATES - HEART OF BANFF NATIONAL PARK

Job Duties Include:

Overnight Kitchen Cleaner (10:30 pm – 7 am, approximately)

Reporting to the Chief Steward, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform overnight deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and surfaces, including ovens, grills, fryers, hoods, walls, ceilings, vents, and other hard-to-reach areas.
  • Sanitize and maintain all work areas, including prep tables, sinks, stainless steel surfaces, and floors (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, and buffing).
  • Ensure a safe and hazard-free environment by keeping floors clean and dry, removing garbage, oil, and recycling, and addressing safety concerns promptly.
  • Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, refilling stock as needed and reporting maintenance or equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Complete additional daily deep-cleaning tasks and other duties as assigned to support overall kitchen cleanliness and operational standards.

Van Driver Sanitation & Recycling

  • Transport and deliver food, beverage, equipment, and supplies (including glassware, china, chemicals, and banquet equipment) safely and efficiently between loading docks, hotel venues, and off-site locations such as Waldhaus, Clubhouse, Bowling Centre, Convention Centre, Exshaw, and Banff dump sites.
  • Support all departments with special deliveries and large-item transport, ensuring timely service and strong inter-departmental communication to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain vehicles and loading areas, including completing daily vehicle inspections, reporting damages or concerns, and ensuring delivery vehicles and loading docks remain clean and organized.
  • Manage waste and recycling operations by collecting, sorting, and disposing of general waste, organics, and recyclables in compliance with hotel standards and Town of Banff regulations.
  • Promote a safe and professional work environment by following Fairmont standards (grooming, hygiene, food safety, and cultural practices), reporting maintenance or safety concerns, participating in health and safety initiatives, completing daily deep cleaning tasks, and communicating operational needs to management.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate industrial machinery
  • Class 5 driver’s license, with a comfort level of driving a 3-ton truck and navigate through tight loading bays
  • Current driver’s abstract, to be provided prior to your first day
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification
  • Passionate and organized about maintaining a clean safe working environment
  • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
